Changes
to local bus routes
The
No. 37 bus which currently runs from a terminus in Fernleigh to the
city centre is to be moved shortly according to Paddy Doherty, Business
Development Manager with Dublin Bus.
According to Mr. Doherty “the terminus will be moving to the Blanchardstown
Centre on completion of the bus lanes on Blanchardstown Road South.”
Community Voice understands that instead of ending
its journey in Fernleigh the bus will now continue its journey from
Carpenterstown across the Canon Troy Bridge and up the Blanchardstown
Road South to its new destination at the Town Centre.
The changes are outlined in correspondence between Mr. Doherty and local
labour Party TD, Joan Burton.
As well as changes to the No. 37 route other new services are also planned
in the coming months. “With regard to Clonsilla Station we expect
new services for the Blanchardstown area to be implemented this spring,”
said Mr. Doherty.
“Part of these new services will be an improved frequency on the
route 270 which will operate through Latchford and serve Clonsilla station.
With the addition of the route 39 coming from its Ongar terminus and
serving the rail station then northwest Blanchardstown will be well
served,” he claimed.
