Local primary schools’ footballers show how it’s done

In front of a large crowd at Castleknock Community College last Thursday, local schools St. Patrick’s and St. Francis Xavier played two sporting and enormously enjoyable games of gaelic football. These games were organised by the Castleknock GAA club coach, Brendan Phelan, with the able assistance of Gerry Morrissey.

St. Francis Xavier came out on top in both games but such was the enjoyment that a second leg is already being organised.

Special thanks to Mr. Waring and Mr. Clerkin of St Patrick’s and Mr. Lynham and Mr. Parker of St. Francis Xavier.

Congratulations to all the footballers for their demonstration of skill and commitment and particularly their sportsmanship which is a credit to themselves, their teachers and their schools.
