Great success enjoyed by Coolmine Gymnastics club

On Sunday 20th January the female gymnasts of Coolmine Gymnastics club travelled to Skerries to compete in the Level 2-6 Regional Single Piece/Club Team Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Competition in Skerries Gymnastics Club.

From a total of 15 gymnasts from Coolmine competing on the day – a remarkable haul of 26 medals, 7 gold, 15 silver and 4 bronze was achieved. These medal winners then went on to represent the North Dublin Region in the National Finals Level 2-6/Regional Teams in the National Basketball Arena on Sunday 10th February.

Again, the Coolmine club enjoyed considerable success with Mojdeh Bazleh winning Gold on Vault in the Level 2 U11 category. Mojdeh, along with Peggy Flanagan won a team bronze for the region at the same level. Hannah Kinahan and Katy Burgess were part of the U13 Level 2 team which won gold on the day with Hannah winning an individual gold for her floor routine.

At the next level up which is level 3, under 11 Nicole Cassidy was part of the North Dublin Team who won silver on the day and Zoe O'Gara won an individual gold for her performance on Vault. Alison Hawkins, competing at U9 Level 2, and Jacinta Kelly at Level 6 U13 also had commendable performances on the day.

All of this reflects the hard work and commitment shown by the gymnasts under the watchful eye of their dedicated coaches at their training sessions in Coolmine Sports and Leisure Centre.
