Castleknock’s young hurlers in the Midlands

The Castleknock Under 10 squad travelled to Co. Laois to play against the Durrow Harps club in both football and hurling. The link between the two clubs is the new Castleknock club coach, Brendan Phelan who has swapped the jersey of the Harps for the tracksuit of Castleknock.Brothers in Arms – The young hurlers of Castleknock and Durrow, Co.Laois.

The football games were very even with both clubs winning a game each. Cian Rush excelled for the visitors and was selected by all the parents in attendance to win an All-Star jersey which was presented to him by Paul Igoe after the game.

The hurling saw games of very high standard with the ability of the home side to lift the ball in the blink of an eye very evident. The Castleknock lads used their strength and tenacity to keep the result in doubt right to the very end but the home side emerged close winners. Sean Gibbins won the All-Star shirt which was presented by Michelle Murphy O'Kane. Both sides are looking forward to a return game in Dublin in the not too distant future.
