Érin
go Brágh camogie team breaks new ground
In what was an historic day for Érin go Brágh, the Littlepace
based GAA club, the under-12 camogie team played its first competitive
match. The opposition was St. Oliver Plunkett/Eoghan Ruadh who kindly
agreed to take part in this big day for Érin go Brágh.

At a wind swept Huntersrun, the Érin go Brágh girls showed
great skill and determination and nearly scored just before half-time
after a great run by Amy O’Hara. But Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh went
ahead half way through the first half.
In what was a great game, it came down to the wire with Érin
go Brágh clawing back to 2-1 with 10 minutes to go. Rachel Carr
commanded the Érin go Brágh goal and pulled off two fine
saves to keep the game on a knife-edge. Late on in the game Eoghan Ruadh
broke away following a good attack by the outstanding Érin go
Brágh midfielder Erica Manning to seal the victory for the visiting
team 3-1.
Érin go Brágh would like to thank St Oliver Plunkett/Eoghan
Ruadh for making this a great day for all involved. The girls from Érin
go Brágh will have taken a great deal of confidence from this
game and can look forward to a good league campaign.
