Art sale at Coolmine Rugby Club

A reminder to all art lovers in the area that the extremely popular Castleknock Art Group annual painting sale / exhibition takes place at Coolmine Rugby Club, River Road next weekend.Members of the Castleknock Art Group

This will be the third year of the event and, with over 240 paintings on view from more than sixty artists, there should be plenty of scope to pick up a very reasonably priced work of art for your front room or spiral staircase. Or if you prefer to simply come along and browse through the myriad styles on view, you will also be very welcome.

Although the proceeds of the sale go to the exhibitors, all ancillary money raised – hanging fees, raffle, entrance fees – go to the Dublin 15 Hospice Fund. So far over €13,000 has been raised for this cause this year and that is even before the event has begun.

Castleknock resident, Damien O’Reilly of RTE fame has kindly agreed to launch the event on the Friday evening and there will also be the now traditional grand auction with a variety of donated items, art-related and otherwise, going under the hammer. This will include a painting by the highly-acclaimed local artist Fr. Eugene Kennedy of Laurel Lodge parish.

The Castleknock Art Group meets every Wednesday at the Community Centre in St. Patrick’s National School in Diswellstown. Prospective members are invited to call down any Wednesday between 8pm and 10pm.

The Art Exhibition takes place at Coolmine Rugby Club, River Road.

Times are Friday 11th April 7pm-10pm, Saturday 12th April 11am – 6pm and Sunday 13th April 11am – 5pm.
