Ready,
steady, go…
The ‘Ready Steady Go’ programme organised by Blanchardstown
Area Partnership is proving extremely popular with members of the local
new Irish communities who are interested in learning about the world
of work in Ireland.
The six week course in Dillon House takes place on three mornings each
week over a six week period.
According to training co-ordinator, Catherine Smyth “the course
is not necessarily for ‘job ready’ clients but rather for
those who wish to learn the skills of job seeking. It covers such areas
as an introduction to computers, job clubs, planning for your future,
Business English and the culture of work in Ireland,” she said.
Clients of the last Ready Steady Go course were well pleased with the
outcome of their studies.
Speaking to Community Voice, one participant said “the
course gave me self confidence to know that I can integrate into Irish
society. The modules were quite educating and the tutors were good and
hard working.” Another of her fellow students agreed saying “the
course was both practical and theoretical which was good.”
The next course will take place in Dillon House later this month and
anyone seeking further information should contact Catherine Smyth, (tel.:
8209550 or email csmyth@bap.ie).
