Big
demand for new Tyrrelstown housing
The
recent launch of the new Twinlite housing development at Oakland Village
in Tyrrelstown appears to be bucking current market trends with excellent
sales figures reported
for the first weekend. According to Sandra Farrell of selling agents
McPeake Auctioneers, “of the 50 homes released for sale, deposits
were taken on 29 making the launch the most successful in 2 years.”
The sales figures also give an indication of other emerging trends.
Over 70% of purchasers on the first weekend were first time buyers with
mortgage approval in place, many of whom reported that they had been
in the market for several months waiting for some value to return. Many
of these first time buyers also commented that they previously put off
the decision to purchase their first home because of uncertainty about
the market and/or interest rates, but that they felt this uncertainty
had now eased.
According to Sandra, “the fact that all the homes on offer were
houses with rear gardens was listed as a ‘significant factor’
by purchasers who contributed to our on-site survey.”
