Brigid’s win camogie title
St Brigid’s 3-1 Lucan Sarsfields 3-0

Congratulations to the St Brigid’s Féile Camogie Team who won the Division 3 Title last Sunday. Their great efforts were rewarded on Sunday when they beat Lucan in the final.

A massive teddy named "Brigid" was hoisted aloft as the Blanchardstown side held on for dear life in this thrilling Division 3 final. Leading by 1-1 to nil at the break, after a goal from Megan Maher and a point by Sarah Hawkshaw, the Russell park side were pinned back after a nail-biting recovery from Sarsfields.

Lucan netted three times through the brilliance of Laura Morrissey, Juliet Sejean and Eimear Moloney. Others to shine were Anisha Namugere, Anna Ryan and Aoife Flynn. However St. Brigid’s had stars too and two smashing green flags from Ruth Dargan as well as the sterling performance of Sinead Farrelly ensured that the title would rest at Russell Park for 2008.

Scorers: St. Brigid’s: Ruth Dargan (2-0); Megan Maher (1-0); Sarah Hawkshaw (0-1). Lucan Sarsfields: Laura Morrissey, Juliet Sejean, Eimear Moloney (1-0 each)
Player of the Match: Sinead Farrelly
