Corduff boys win Celtic Cup with North Dublin

Corduff FC was delighted with the performance of Jamie Bowes Mulroy and Jamie Philips on their successful weekend representing North Dublin and Corduff FC as well as the Mulhuddart and Corduff communities. They travelled to Belfast to take part in the Celtic Cup last month and beat Scotland and the Isle of Man along the way to win the trophy. The Corduff two – Jamie Bowes Mulroy and Jamie Philips were stars of the North Dublin squad which won the Celtic Cup

These under-11 players were entered by Corduff FC in to the NDSL academy along with members from the under-10 and under-12 teams this season. Nathan Browne also represented the NDSL against the Meath league this month in a competitive match.

With the new structures in the FAI and its emerging talent programme, no longer does a player need to play in a specific league or move from their community club and join a club across the other side of the city if they have great ability.

The emerging talent programme covers representative sides and the decision to put players forward to the academy provides a clear and fair system for the more advanced player to play a higher standard and be noticed and still continue playing with their friends each week.
