September start for new small business seminars

September will see the start of yet another series of the highly successful “afternoon business workshops” organised by the enterprise department of Blanchardstown Area Partnership for people who have recently set up in business or who are considering doing so.

These workshops have been running since 2006 and many people from all walks of life have already attended and subsequently set up a business. However, as enterprise development officer Niall Comber points out “many participants who have already started a business have also benefitted greatly from their attendance.”

All seminars are run in an informal manner, keeping business jargon to a minimum. The objective of each class to provide participants with the necessary knowledge to run a successful business.

According to Niall, “this is done through an interactive approach coupled with practical examples based in the ‘real world’. Our aim is to ensure that everyone leaves the seminar with something useful for their business - or prospective business.”

Subjects covered include such diverse topics as business planning, taxation, insurance, franchising, and selling. There is even a seminar on the strangely titled topic of Guerrilla Marketing.

All of the workshops are free of charge so as a result booking is essential, as places are limited. Further details on topics, dates and times are available online at www.bap.ie

Anyone wishing to book a place, or discuss their business can also contact Niall Comber directly (tel. 01-820 9550/ 824 7819) or email ncomber@bap.ie
