St
Peregrine’s celebrate the half-century man
Paul Harte, chairman of St. Peregrine's GAA Club on Blakestown Road,
Clonsilla, celebrated his 50th birthday party in the Clubhouse recently.
In true traditional fashion, entertainment on the night was provided
by Ciotóg who kept the ballads and craic going all night long.
Brendan Harte, Paul's brother, was also there to entertain people with
a host of magic tricks.
In attendance on the night, amongst family and friends, were faces old
and new of St. Peregrines GAA Club, including longstanding members such
as Bob Gaynor, Eoin and Joan Gilhooley, Derek Farnham - who played on
the club’s first under 10 team, Ben O'Neill, Alan Abbey, Louise
and Mark McSherry and many more.
Guests Kevin Fox and Wayne Byrne took to the stage to sing along with
the band but most memorably Leon, of Chinese decent took over the microphone
to sing a traditional Irish song as well, if not better, than any of
the Irish guests.
