| New church celebrates first birthday One of Dublin 15 and Irish Methodism’s newest churches, Blanchardstown Methodist Church, recently celebrated its first year together with a special service of thanksgiving in Tyrrelstown Educate Together school. The
event was led by Rev. Dr. John Stephens who said “this celebration
marks a year of tremendous blessings where God has shown that he clearly
has a reason for us being here.” Also featured during the celebration were the church’s praise group, creative prayer spaces and a pot lunch afterwards. Two church members, Natasha Imafidon and Philip McKinley also performed songs which they had written especially for the occasion. In the past twelve months, Blanchardstown Methodist Church have led worship on RTE television, have appointed two church development workers, Philip and Julie McKinley and have organised a large children’s summer project called ‘Fiesta’. 2010 will be a busy year again for the church as they host a special open day in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Blanchardstown on Sunday April 18th, deliver training and small group meetings on themes such as volunteering and parental issues and organise a children’s summer project, called ‘Avalanche Ranch’ from 19th to 23rd July in collaboration with West Bangor Presbyterian Church.
