CCTV
at Clonsilla station
The news that CCTV cameras have been installed at Clonsilla Rail Station
has been welcomed by commuters and public representatives alike.
The installation of the cameras follows a number of incidents at the
station including a spate of bicycle thefts.
Iarnród Éireann wrote to the county council recently to
inform councillors of the installation following representation from
the council to do so. Labour Councillor Patrick Nulty who had originally
proposed that the council should make these representations welcomed
the move saying he hoped “this measure will deter potential criminals
and create a more secure environment for commuters and their property.
“Iarnród Éireann should be acknowledged for responding
positively to the needs of the community on this issue,” he said.
