Summer Footprints

For the fifth consecutive summer, Footprints Dance Academy’s summer camp will be instructing children in the myriad forms of dance available, from ballet and creative dance to musical theatre and hip hop.Making footprints

The one week dance camp, which costs just €100, takes place from 10am-2pm everyday from July 19th to 23rd. By the end of the week, students will be so proficient that they will perform at their own dance show for family and friends.

“Last year’s summer camp was a great success and the kids all had a ball.  We had a great mixture of boys and girls and local newspapers had a half a page spread of them enjoying working hard at performance rehearsals.  So make sure your kids don’t miss out – places are limited so book early for this year’s summer camp!”

“Last year’s summer camp was a great success and the kids all had a ball,” said Clare Connolly who, with Ailish Claffey, is one of the fully qualified dance professionals who will be running the camp. “We had a great mixture of boys and girls and local newspapers had a half a page spread of them enjoying working hard at performance rehearsals.

“As always, places will be limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.”

The dance camp is limited to children aged 3 – 12 but this year, as an added incentive, the academy is running a week-long workshop for anybody above the upper age limit.

“This year the whole family has the opportunity to join in the fun and improve their own dance skills as well as fitness, flexibility and body awareness,” says Clare. “For just £40 elder siblings, parents and grandparents can learn some of their own dance routines over the first four days and then strut their stuff in front of the kids on the Friday afternoon. These adult classes will take place on the same week from 2-3pm.
