| And briefly… To
round off Spréacha, Draíocht are holding two of their
ever-popular family days on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th June. The
theme will be illustrating famous characters from well-known fairy tales
and all adults must be accompanied by a child. Don’t miss Morecambe, Bob Golding’s eerily lifelike portrayal of the illustrious comedian which plays Draíocht on Thursday 24th June. Nominated for two Olivier awards, the show was a huge success in London’s Duchess Theatre last year. Congratulations to Castleknock poet and raconteur Monica-Ann Dunne for her flawless performance on the piano in the final ever appearance of Blow your own Trumpet at the National Concert Hall last month. Conor Kostick has been selected as the 2010 Farmleigh Writer in Residence. He is the author of several books including Epic, Saga, Move, as well as The Book of Curses for younger readers. The residency will take place between July, August and September and a series of Farmleigh workshops will be programmed to coincide with it. Three very exciting summer workshops will take place at Draíocht during July. Drama, film-making and art studies will all be on the week-long courses and a wide span of ages are catered for in each.
