The
fox’s brush: Few,
if any artists, have undergone such a radical change in subject and style
as Castleknock’s own Cliona Fox, whose first solo exhibition opens
in the Ashtown Centre in the Phoenix Park next month. |
 |
New
season unveiled: The line-up for Draiocht’s
new season has been unveiled and, in keeping with the theatre’s policy,
a broad range of events has been organised to keep the good citizens of
Dublin 15 culturally entertained throughout the spring and early summer.

Red
roses and petrol: Take one newly formed theatre company. Their
first production “Run for your wife” – Ray Cooney’s
much admired farce – is a huge success but the problem is - what do
you choose as a follow-up?
It is doubtful whether the words “Red roses and petrol”,Pulitzer
Prize winning Joseph O’Connor’s suburban drama would be among
the first to spring to mind. |
 |
The
Golden Age of Swing, Jazz and Blues: It is always an occasion when the
local girl plays her home town theatre and Rushbrook’s own Ellen McElroy
looks certain to pack them in when she plays Draíocht for one night
only in March. |
 |
The
patriot game: For
those people though who were not fortunate enough or old enough to have
heard the great man in his prime, the next best thing is on hand, as Chris
Kavanagh and The Patriots bring their highly-acclaimed “The Legend
of Luke Kelly” show to Draíocht for two nights at the end
of the month.

Going
to extremes: “Bradán
Players was established with the purpose of producing challenging plays
for both participants and audience. In our short existence I like to
think that we have achieved that aim.”
