A rhapsody from Hungary: Thirty five years ago, four accomplished musicians came together with the notion of reviving traditional music in their native Hungary. Now legendary fingers throughout the folk music world, the group play three dates in Ireland next month, including one at the Ballroom in Farmleigh, as part of the OPW’S Salon series of concerts.

Redefining old boundaries: The English Acoustic Collective describes itself as “a fluid group of composers, writers and choreographers whose work is grounded in a love for their common cultural inheritance.” They play the ballroom at Farmleigh on Tuesday 1st July at 8pm.
Art fiesta graces Library: There was great excitement in Blanchardstown Library recently as two major art exhibitions were officially co-launched by the Cathaoirleach of Fingal, Cllr. Alan Farrell.
Exciting cultural line up for Farmleigh: Details of the much-anticipated summer season at Farmleigh have finally been released and it must be said that from a cultural point of view, it has been worth the wait. With events taking place on most weekends during July, August and September, Farmleigh has further established itself as the summer place to be for Dublin 15 residents, old and young.

Another celeb moves to Dublin 15: Following on from the news that an Taoiseach Brian Cowen is to reside part time in the Steward’s House at Farmleigh, it has been announced that he is to get a new and very important neighbour from mid July to mid October.

Bearing it all at Borders: There are not many fifty year olds who can get away with wandering around wearing a floppy hat, a duffle coat and nothing else, but Paddington Bear was never much of a style icon in the eyes of a child.
