A major centre of local commerce : Once a small rural village, Blanchardstown is now at the centre of one of the fastest growing areas in Europe. While it was once the main shopping and commercial hub for the Dublin 15 area, this has shifted northwards to the Town Centre. However the village still remains a major player in local commerce with most of the major banks and building societies and other financial services firmly based there.

Forty five years on Main Street : Forty five years ago, when the then government introduced a new concept in direct taxation called turnover tax, little did the Minister for Finance, Dr. James Ryan TD realise that he was about to establish a new landmark in Blanchardstown Village.
