Mountview
Centre stalled again:The
long-running saga of the building of the Mountview Community Centre appears
to have hit yet another hitch. With actual work due to start at the beginning
of January, the escalation of a legal dispute over the rights to the land
has meant that, yet again, work has been postponed.

school shortlisted for humanitarian award: The conscientious
4th/5th class pupils of St. Brigid’s Church of Ireland national school
in Castleknock have pulled off a major coup by being shortlisted for a major
national humanitarian award.

Mulhuddart
celebrates 5 years of local youth project: Almost 100 people
turned up at the Mulhuddart Community Centre recently for the launch of
the publication ‘youth@thecentre’, which celebrates five years
of Mulhuddart Community Youth Project at the centre.

Gold
award for Blanchardstown Youthreach: One of Dublin 15’s
most successful youth projects, Blanchardstown Youthreach, was recently
awarded the gold level standard Health Quality Mark at a reception in
the Department of Education and Science.

Matt
Talbot healing mass proposed:
The
spirit of Matt Talbot is being invoked at a new initiative called ‘Lent-a-Hand’
which takes place at St.Philip’s Church, Mountview starting on 11th
February, the first Monday of Lent. It is described as a healing mass
for all the pain suffered from problems of alcoholism and other drugs
in the community in Dublin 15.
