“A milestone – not a tombstone”: “I see this as a milestone and not a tombstone” said Fr. Liam Hickey, when he spoke to more than 250 people from Hartstown who came together recently in the Castleknock Hotel & Country Club to mark his recent retirement.

Hot Fuzz tops in local youth awards competition: There was high excitement at the Fingal Civic Offices in Blanchardstown last week as sixteen youth groups competed for the fourth annual Active in Blanchardstown Community (ABC) awards. The scheme encourages young people to become aware of their community and take action to improve it by undertaking projects under various categories.

Mountview pupils’ quiz success: Pupils of St Philip the Apostle school in Mountview did their community proud recently when they narrowly lost a tie break for first place in the recent National Parents' Council - Primary schools quiz held in St Brigid's GAA Club, Russell Park.

Christy Moore in Castleknock: One of Ireland’s most popular singer songwriters, Christy Moore visited Castleknock Community College as part of Amnesty International’s ‘Voice our Concern’ schools’ initiative.

The Internationalists: With the very merry month of May fast approaching, lovers of classical music will be aware that the internationally renowned Fingal County Youth Orchestra is due to play their annual end of season performance concert at Draíocht.
Learning computer skills: Castleknock Hotel & Country Club was the venue for a most unusual gathering recently when over 100 local people ranging in age from early teens to eighties received their certificates affirming their newly acquired computer skills.
