Huntstown principal retires after 25 years: “I feel a little bit lonely and sad because I am leaving something I love very much,” said John Lynch principal of Sacred Heart of Jesus national school in Huntstown.

Castaheany scoops €10,000 AIB award: Castaheany Educate Together National School has won the €10,000 AIB Better Ireland Programme award for Dublin West, it was announced this week.

Scoil Oilibhéir graduates raise €6,000 : There was a lovely twist to the end of sixth class in Scoil Oilibhéir this year as the selfless students raised €6,000 for the benefit of two very important charities.

Ten years of dealing with the drugs issue: The Community Drugs team for the Hartstown and Huntstown areas of Dublin 15 will be marking ten years of service to the community next November and its success over that period is clearly evidenced by the level of work carried out by its six staff members.

Beechfield gets a face lift : The vibrancy of the residents association, which has practically 50% membership, meant that this year the Beechfielders were able to tackle the whole area and the estate has certainly benefitted from its first major face lift in six years.
Ongar residents voice local concerns to Minister: Residents of Ongar met recently with local TD and Minister for Finance, Brian Lenihan, to raise concerns about a number of issues relating to estates in Ongar.
Another great year for Kid Kast: One of Dublin 15’s premier stage schools, Kid Kast, rounded off another successful year on Sunday with a well-attended matinee and evening show at the Helix Theatre in DCU.
Multicultural fun day in Mountview: There was great fun and excitement in Mountview recently as the Greater Blanchardstown Development Project organised a multicultural open fun day at the Fortlawn Community Facility.
St. Patrick’s slashes carbon emissions: The carbon footprint of St. Patrick’s National School and Community Centre is one third smaller than current best practice in schools in the UK, a major new study has found.
