Taoiseach launches Castleknock development: Over 1,000 people turned up at Somerton in Castleknock to witness the turning of the sod for one of Dublin 15’s biggest ever sporting developments.
Cllr. Brenda Clifford supports unauthorised beauty parlour : Local Fianna Fáil councillor, Brenda Clifford has greatly angered residents of Roselawn Road with her support for an illegal beauty salon on the road.
Hanafin under fire over local schools controversy : Relations between Educate Together and the office of the Minister for Education have definitely taken a frosty turn with Educate Together threatening to take a legal challenge against the Minister for her refusal to sanction a school for the Carpenterstown area.
New Phoenix Park shuttle bus service : The May bank holiday weekend will see the launch of a new shuttle bus service for visitors to the Phoenix Park.
“Damned if we do and damned if we don’t” : The proposal by Fingal County Council to rezone 60 acres of greenbelt land in Kellystown for new housing development is proving to be a divisive issue.
Residents’ anger at Tyrrelstown comments : There was bitter reaction in Tyrrelstown to the comments of Fingal County Council and Smith’s Property Management Agency director Daragh O’Sullivan in a piece in Issue 112 of Community Voice.

Submissions invited for Draíocht redevelopment: Draíocht’s summer season is a little shorter than usual this year.This is to facilitate Draíocht’s long-awaited refurbishment, renovation of the box office, refurbishment of the toilets, relocation of theatre bar, replacement of the kitchen and part of lecture room with a new café and seating area and the introduction of outdoor seating in the side courtyard between the theatre and the library.

Making Blakestown safer : The issue of community safety is of concern to every person who lives or works in Dublin 15. Like every other large urban area in the country Blanchardstown has its share of problems with crime and anti-social behaviour.

Active Citizenship to promote democracy : An initiative aimed at encouraging people to vote in the local elections next year has been started by the Active Citizenship group.

  Local connection to Hillery biography: A historian who grew up in Dublin 15 is the author of an upcoming biography of the late Dr. Patrick Hillery, former President of Ireland and holder of a number of other significant public offices during a distinguished career.
