Toll bridge loss could cost Fingal €5.5m: This month’s introduction of barrier free tolling on the Westlink toll bridge could also mean a major financial loss to Fingal County Council, Community Voice has learned.
Connolly Hospital cancels surgery to meet budget targets :Attempts by management at Connolly Hospital to bring the hospital back in line with its budget for 2008 is now starting to hit services at the hospital following the cancellation of all elective surgery until the end of September.
Coolmine on the back burner again : The recent announcement by the Minister for Education, Batt O’Keeffe, that Coolmine Community School would not in fact receive its promised refurbishments during 2008, nor possibly during 2009, should come as no surprise to those who have been following this depressing saga down through the years.
Green light for local hospice: The new St Francis Hospice – to be built on the Abbotstown lands adjoining Connolly Hospital has been given the green light by Fingal County Council’s planners and work is expected to begin on the site by the end of October this year.
Get me to the Council on time: Fingal County Hall in Swords will create a little bit of history on Thursday September 9th when it becomes the first local authority office in the country to play host to a wedding ceremony.
What caused the Dublin 15 floods? : After every disaster there is inevitably a post mortem or enquiry into what went wrong and the recent flooding which caused havoc for many Dublin 15 residents is no exception.

Washed out of the Strawberry Beds : Vera Cummins is probably one of Dublin 15’s longest established business people and local residents. On Saturday morning 9th August, Vera, like most Dublin 15 residents awoke to one of the worst days of rain in living memory.

Suffering, but not in silence : The intolerable noise levels being suffered by residents of Swallowbrook, Bramblefields and Pheasants Run, whose houses lie adjacent to the N3, must be acted upon immediately, residents have demanded.

More funding to tackle litter and graffiti: The dual scourge of litter and graffiti are to be tackled in another major initiative which has seen €50,000 placed at the disposal of Fingal County Council for this specific purpose.
