 Sporting Fingal club launched at Corduff Sport Centre: The great and good of the grand old county of Fingal were at Corduff Sports Center recently for the launch of the League of Ireland newest club Sporting Fingal. In a move that has shades of the old North American Soccer League about it, this is effectively a franchise with the County Council as the main backer.

 
Coolmine produce a top display to see off Wanderers in Metro Cup: After this fixture being postponed last week due to bad weather, playing conditions were close to ideal today for this second round Metro cup clash with Wanderers RFC.
Coolmine progress to the Metro Cup semi-final with big home win : Just a week after defeating Wanderers in the same competition Coolmine qualified for the semi-final of the Metro Cup after this four-try victory over Terenure.

New GAA promotion initiative in Tyrellstown: A new Dublin GAA county board initiative has started out in Tyrellstown to provide a GAA club to cater for the ever burgeoning population. The board will provide initial support in the form of training material and instruction but is hoping that local parents will become involved to give it the internal local impetus that drives GAA clubs across the land.

Coolmine give students a rugby lesson: The game in the Metro Cup was played on the last Sunday in January. Coolmine dismissed the challenge of visitors Dublin University with this 22-10 win at Ashbrook. Completely dominant in the opening half, Coolmine scored three tries to build what turned out to be an unassailable lead.
Local Dubs’ all-star honoured by school: One of Scoil Bhríde’s most famous past pupils, GAA All-star and Dublin defender, Barry Cahill returned to the Blanchardstown school recently for a special presentation by pupils and teachers.
